Wooden Rocking Horse

My husband has been busy again!  The wood-turning group that he belongs to makes a tree for the Festival of Trees every year.  They all turn ornaments to hang on the tree and make it just beautiful.  This year they asked my husband to make a little rocking horse to place beneath the tree.  Isn't she beautiful?!  She stands about 21 inches tall.  I did the mane and tail.  It is a very soft yarn.  I love the way she turned out.  I may be prejudiced but I think my husband does beautiful work!  He asked me what I was going to name her.  With my uber creative mind I responded "Horse".  :0

Mushrooms!

My husband is always busy in his wood shop, turning and creating something beautiful.  I just wanted to share his latest project that he just decided to make on a whim!  He made wooden mushrooms!

Isn't that clever!?  The REALLY clever thing about them is that not only are they cute, they are also little containers that can hide small prized possessions of great personal importance!

Wouldn't these be cute for granddaughters?  Hmmm.........

I won't even begin to attempt to explain how he made these.  All I know is that he turned them on his lathe...somehow.  I just love how he left the bark on the bottom of the first mushroom.

Christmas Ornament...another one!

Here is my husband's latest!  He has been very busy in his shop turning out more and more beautiful ornaments.  This one is made out of apple wood (I think!) and he has made it completely hollowed out so you can see the bell from all four sides.  Breathtaking!  Thank you for stopping by to take a peek and have a wonderful day!

Christmas Bells Are Ringing!

My sweet husband has already made me so many beautiful wooden Christmas ornaments to hang on our tree this year, but now he has included this amazingly beautiful bell!  He used cherry wood and birch plywood.  Somehow he layered the woods and as he turned it on his lathe, it created this gorgeous pattern!  Not only is the outside beautiful, but the inside as well! Christmas ornaments
