Mother's Day Card
This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday 238 file that MichelleMyBelle posted on the Make-the-Cut forum. It isn't exactly like it, but it got me thinking about these little squares that I have had for a couple of years. These were left over from a calendar grid that I cut out with my Cricut. That was one thing I really didn't like about the Cricut was that I never got square squares, or round circles, etc. They were always off just a bit. If you look closely at these squares, some of the corners almost seem rounded. However, they turned out just fine for this card. I used a scroll pattern I had in my Make-the-cut files and triple layered it in white, black and red. I used the Mojo file and made the scalloped layer in red, then circles in black with white polka dots and then the white layer. I reversed the color order this time to give it a different look. I used individual little letter stamps to make the "Happy Mother's Day" using the "Fired Brick" Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad. I inserted a red and white polka dot brad for the center and attached all of if to the card with pop dots. I wanted the scroll to look like the stem and leaves of a flower. I added white pearls to the corners, but wish I would have had some red ones to make it pop a bit more. They look nicer in person than in this photo. The black paper I used was awful to cut on my Lynx, but all else cut just fine. On the inside of the card I attached a white liner and stamped "You're the best!". I think it turned out OK.
I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek!
